Modern Slavery Statement
This statement is made on behalf of Griffin & Sloane Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16190072, with its registered office at 50 Norwich Road, Manchester, M329TY, United Kingdom.
Our Business
Griffin & Sloane operates as an independent commissioning house for haute horlogerie and high jewellery. We do not manufacture at scale and do not operate conventional supply chains. Our work is produced through a small number of specialist craftsmen, ateliers, and material suppliers engaged on a commission-by-commission basis.
Approach to Modern Slavery
Griffin & Sloane is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and recognise our responsibility to assess and mitigate risk within our sphere of influence.
Supply Chain Risk and Oversight
Given the nature of our business, our exposure to modern slavery risk is limited but not ignored. Particular attention is paid to areas where risk is recognised within the wider industry, including the sourcing of gemstones and precious materials.
We manage risk through:
- working only with established, specialist craftsmen and suppliers known to us directly
- commissioning work selectively and in limited volume
- maintaining direct relationships rather than layered or opaque supply chains
- declining to engage where standards of conduct cannot be reasonably assured
Policies and Expectations
Griffin & Sloane expects all parties engaged in its work to operate in accordance with applicable laws and to uphold standards consistent with ethical labour practices. Where concerns arise, we reserve the right to disengage.
Training
Given the size and structure of the business, formal training programmes are not currently required. Awareness of ethical sourcing and labour considerations forms part of ongoing professional judgement exercised in commissioning decisions.
Commitment and Review
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Griffin & Sloane Ltd’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year. We will review and update this statement as our business or regulatory obligations evolve.
