The House of Griffin & Sloane
Griffin & Sloane is an independent commissioning house for haute horlogerie and high jewellery.
We work with master craftsmen, specialist manufactories, and exceptional stone suppliers to realise pieces defined by judgement, restraint, and long-term relevance. Each commission is shaped by expertise rather than branding, and executed for those who value authorship over attribution.
Commissioning with intent
Each Griffin & Sloane commission is governed by scope and restraint.
We work closely with our clients to define the intent of a piece before form, technique, or material is considered. This process ensures that complexity is introduced only where it adds meaning, and that every decision serves the whole rather than the moment.
Not every technique is appropriate to every commission. Not every possibility should be explored. Knowing the difference is the substance of our role.
This framework allows our artisans to work at their highest level, free from unnecessary intervention, while ensuring the final work is coherent, resolved, and durable in both design and execution.
The craftsmen we commission
Griffin & Sloane commissions work from a small number of independent masters and specialist ateliers whose expertise has been established over decades. Each is engaged only where their contribution is essential to the integrity of the final piece.
In haute horlogerie, this includes independent watchmakers and technical specialists with deep experience in movement architecture, restoration, and the development of proprietary mechanisms. Their involvement ensures mechanical integrity, proportional discipline, and long-term reliability at the highest level.
For engraving and enamel work, we commission master artisans working within long-established European traditions. Their work transforms functional components into sculptural surfaces without compromising legibility, structure, or mechanical purpose.
In high jewellery and institutional decorative work, we collaborate with historic ateliers specialising in engraving, guilloché, and enamelling. These partners are reserved for commissions that demand continuity of technique, depth of institutional discipline, and absolute control over execution.
For diamonds and exceptional stones, we work with specialist suppliers who provide access to rare material selected for quality, provenance, and suitability rather than availability. Stones are sourced privately, in response to specific commissions.
These craftsmen and houses are not interchangeable. Each is commissioned deliberately, according to the demands of the work.
Beyond branding and spectacle
Griffin & Sloane does not trade in logos, collections, or seasonal releases.
We do not ask our clients to pay for marketing narratives, packaging, or inflated symbolism. Value resides in the work itself: the quality of materials, the intelligence of design, and the precision of execution.
Our commissions are produced in limited numbers or as unique pieces, not to create artificial scarcity, but because meaningful work requires focus, time, and discretion.
What remains is not a product, but an object with authorship and intent.
A considered relationship
Working with Griffin & Sloane is a private, considered process.
We act as the point of definition, coordination, and oversight for each commission, ensuring clarity for both client and craftsman. Discussions are direct, confidential, and without obligation.
For those who value judgement over excess and permanence over display, we invite you to begin a conversation.
Griffin & Sloane commissions are defined not by volume or visibility, but by judgement, authorship, and permanence.
